Fees & insurance

Knowing what something will cost shouldn’t be an afterthought. Here’s how consultations and procedures are priced, and what your options are if you’re insured, self-funding, or unsure which applies to you.

What a Consultation or Procedure Costs

Initial consultation

Your first meeting with usually around 15-25 minutes, covering your history and symptoms in full.

Follow-up consultation

A shorter appointment to go through results and plan next steps.

Hospital & Endoscopy Procedures

All procedural fees (including gastroscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, and colonoscopy) are scheduled, performed, and invoiced directly through Cobalt Hospital. An itemised quote covering the hospital facility fee, procedure fee, and sedation will be provided prior to booking.

Two things worth knowing: the hospital’s own facility fee and any anaesthetist involved are billed separately from Dr Kejariwal’s fee, and you’ll see all of this itemised before any procedure is booked, not after.

Before your appointment, call your insurer to get pre-authorisation, and pass that authorisation code on to the secretary. It’s worth checking your policy for any excess or shortfall you might be liable for, since that part sits between you and your insurer rather than the practice.

Self-pay

Self-funding patients do not require a GP referral or insurer authorisation to book a private consultation. For outpatient consultations, fees are fixed at £200 for initial appointments and £120 for follow-ups. If an endoscopic procedure is recommended, Cobalt Hospital will provide a transparent, itemised hospital quote prior to booking.
